Abdul’aziz Yari is the most corrupt politician in Nigeria – Fani-Kayode

Nigeria’s former minister of aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has made a huge allegation against the former governor of Zamfara State, Abdulaziz Yari.

Mr Fani-kayode, a controversial politician, stated on social media that Mr Yari is not only the most corrupt but also the most ‘filthy, despicable and greedy’ politician Nigeria has ever produced.

He made this statement via a tweet on Friday morning as he alleged that the former governor awarded a contract of N60 billion to the Chinese – paid all the money upfront and in the end, no work was done.

“Abdul’aziz Yari, the fmr. Gov. of Zamfara, is the most filthy, despicable, corrupt & greedy politician in Nig. Whilst his people were being slaughtered he stole billions. He awarded a contract of 60 billion to the Chinese, paid all the money upfront & in the end NO work was done!”

He also accused the Federal Government of covering up the grave offences.

“Sadly the whole thing is being covered up by the Federal Government. If this had been a People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Governor, he would have been prosecuted and sent to jail long ago. Thankfully Zamfara has a Governor who knows what he is doing now and who has shown that exemplary leadership can bring positive change”, he wrote.

Mr Yari served as Governor of Zamfara State, between 2011 and 2019. He ran on the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) platform and following the merger of the ANPP and several other opposition parties into the now-governing All Progressives Congress, Mr Yari became a member of the APC.
