A former minister of education, Obiageli Ezekwesili, has advised the leadership of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) to avoid being in a rush to conduct a resit examination for candidates affected by its flawed 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination results.
Ezekwesili, in a post on X, queried JAMB’s decision to conduct a resit for candidates barely 24 hours after the examination body admitted that its result for the 2025 UTME was riddled with errors following a technical glitch.
She asked, “Are affected candidates truly expected to retake their JAMB Examination tomorrow?
“I saw a message from a distressed candidate that JAMB did not give them sufficient heads-up,” the former minister said.
She further urged the examination body to reconsider its decision by avoiding such a rush.
According to Ezekwesili, the incident – where JAMB experienced a technical glitch in its recently released results – requires strategic planning to avoid a repeat.
“The affected candidates are so deserving of our empathy,” Ezekwesili said.
