Native doctor Akwa Okuko’s trial stalled, details emerge

The trial of three Anambra-based native doctors has been stalled following their absence in court on Friday.

Politics Nigeria gathered that the native doctors Chidozie Nwangwu (Akwa okuko tiwaraki), Onyebuchi Okocha(Onyeze Jesus), and Ekene Igboekweze (Eke Hit) were nowhere to be found as the court was expected to begin their trial.

The trio were arrested and accused of conniving with criminals, including kidnappers and ritualists in Anambra State.

According to the prosecutor, the native doctors specialise in producing charms for the criminals to help them evade arrest.

The native doctors who were arraigned before the Anambra State High Court, Awka, on Friday, April  11, pleaded not guilty.

When the matter was brought up in court on Friday, May 16, 2025, no explanation was given for their absence.

However, their defence counsels said they have not been informed on the matter.

The court presided by Justice Obiorah adjourned the matter to June 20.
