Gov Sule declares 2027 Senate ambition for Nasarawa north

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has officially revealed his intention to run for the Nasarawa North senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections.

The announcement was made public by the Director-General of the State Bureau for Pension Administration, Suleiman Musa Nagogo, during a meeting with All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders in Wamba Local Government Area on Tuesday.

Nagogo told stakeholders that Governor Sule had personally informed him of his desire to represent the senatorial district at the National Assembly, calling it a project that begins at home.

Nagogo said: “I have been in Wamba with a crystal clear message from His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, to simply introduce a very important subject matter to the people of my own home, Wamba Local Government Area.

“That important message is to inform them that he is desirous of contesting for the office of Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria come 2027.”

Nagogo disclosed that the governor had already set up a committee to begin groundwork across the senatorial zone, noting that while the effort is still in its early stages, it was important to notify his home base first.

He said: “Charity begins at home. I should be able to take it upon myself to call on my own people of Wamba Local Government and inform them about this project.”

Describing Wamba as the political home of the APC, Nagogo urged the community to throw their full weight behind Governor Sule’s ambition, citing his experience, capacity, and impact across the state.

“In terms of capacity, in terms of the wherewithal, in terms of the in-depth knowledge and understanding of the politics of this senatorial district, Governor Abdullahi Sule is second to none,” he said.

He added that the governor had adopted Wamba as his political base and that there was no justification for allowing other areas to take the lead in promoting Sule’s senatorial ambition.

“This is our own project. This is the project of the Wamba people,” Nagogo declared.

Speaking on Governor Sule’s developmental achievements, Nagogo pointed to infrastructural transformation in Lafia, agricultural reforms, and breakthroughs in solid mineral exploration as evidence of his leadership prowess.

“In terms of solid minerals, Governor Abdullahi Sule has made Nasarawa a pacesetter. We need no reminders to see the transformation he has brought,” he said.
