Why Goodluck Jonathan lost 2015 presidential election – Rev Fr Mbaka

Reverend Father Ejike Mbaka, Spiritual Director of the Adoration Ministry Enugu, has attributed former President Goodluck Jonathan’s defeat in the 2015 presidential election to his refusal to follow divine counsel.

Mbaka, a vocal cleric, said he advised Jonathan to remove Professor Attahiru Jega as Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) before the polls, claiming Jega had already “betrayed” the president.

However, Jonathan, he said, ignored the advice.

“Jonathan didn’t fail because I failed him; he decided to fail.

“I told him what to do to win the election, but he refused. He failed because he disobeyed the advice of a man of God. I told him to remove Jega, that Jega had already betrayed him, but he refused to remove Jega,” Mbaka stated.

The cleric described Jonathan as a personal friend and dismissed social media narratives suggesting otherwise.

“Forget about what they are saying on social media. Former President Goodluck Jonathan was my friend; the case is different,” he said.

Mbaka further claimed that the same forces that orchestrated Jonathan’s removal are currently behind the insecurity troubling the country, alleging it is being sponsored by political elements seeking to destabilise and oust President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
