This is God’s will for Akwa Ibom – Lawmaker reacts to Gov Eno’s defection

A lawmaker of the House of Representatives, Clement Jimbo has described the defection of the governor of Akwa Ibom State, Umo Eno as the will of God.

Jimbo, who represents Abak/Etim Ekpo/Ika federal constituency in Akwa Ibom said this on Friday, June 6.

Recall that Eno had officially defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to Governor Eno, his decision to leave the party stems from his three-month consultation with political stakeholders across the state and Nigeria as a whole.

In his reaction, Jimbo said the governor understands the times and season of politics.

Also expressing his excitement over the current happening in the state, Jimbo said Akwa Ibom is in God’s hands.

“I am indeed excited that what is happening today in Akwa Ibom state is in line with the will of God for Akwa Ibom state.

“I am happy that our governor has understood the times and seasons and has aligned Akwa Ibom state in that direction. So, I am very happy,” Jimbo said.

He further stated that contrary to rumours of his ineligibility to contest in 2027 due to zoning arrangements in his constituency, he will be contesting again.

According to Jimbo, the issue of zoning is unconstitutional and is not in line with the laws of the National Assembly.

He also boasted that since he was elected as a federal representative of his constituency there have been changes.

He said his due to some of the strides he has taken, this is the first time his people have ever benefitted from the government.
