A top commander of the Islamic State – West Africa Province (ISWAP), Malam Jidda has been killed.
Jidda was eliminated by troops of the Joint Task Force North-East Operation Hadin Kai.
His death was part of the successes recorded by the troops during the ongoing counter-insurgency operations in Borno and the Northeast region at large.
Zagazola Makama, a counter-terrorism expert in a post on X said the troops conducted a massive onslaught against terrorists in Ngazalgana village in Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State.
According to Makama, the terrorist commander who was identified as the Amerr, meaning the leader of Ngorgore and Malumti villages was eliminated.
Following the encounter, the troops also recovered arms and ammunition including AK-47 riffles, motorcycles and magazines from the terrorists.
“In another operation on the Timbuktu Triangle axis, a snap ambush team deployed by troops engaged Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) elements in a swift and decisive encounter.
“Some of the terrorists were neutralised, while troops recovered additional AK-47 rifles and various categories of ordnance,” Makama added.
I thank God our gallant troops are doing well to revenge the recent disgraceful capture and killings of their colleagues by those vandals. Kudos to them.
