The lawmaker representing Borno South Senatorial District at the Nigerian Senate, Ali Ndume has said that he is prepared to die for one purpose.
Speaking during an interview on Arise Television, Ndume who has been a strong critic of President Bola Tinubu’s administration said he is ready to die for the truth.
He also explained that his criticism of the presisent is not out of spite but for the new for Nigeria to wear a new face.
Refuting reports that he is at war with President Tinubu who also serves as the leader of the All Progressives Congress, Ndume said he used to be friends with the president.
His words, “I used to go to Tinubu’s bedroom both in Bourdillon and here in Lagos House and he knows me very well. If we meet casually, he’ll tell me, “I hear you.”
Speaking further, the lawmaker said he would be at peace if he dies doing the right thing.
“I’m 65, and I have been in this business for 24 years. God has done everything for me. The only thing I have to do right now, and I am prepared to die doing it, is to speak the truth and do what is right,” Ndume stated.
He also debunked claims that he is planning to dump his party APC for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) or the coalition.
“That is why I will not jump ship, but when the ship is getting overloaded with unnecessary cargo and may capsize, then I better consider the small ship,” the lawmaker stated.
