Insecurity: ‘You’ll no longer suffer from one chance criminals’, Tinubu assures Abuja residents

President Bola Tinubu has assured residents of the capital city of their safety across Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.

Tinubu assured the residents that they would no longer fall victim to one chance criminals who specialise in pretending to be commercial drivers but end up attacking, stealing from and sometimes killing their victims.

These drivers alongside their gang members pick up passengers at random locations across the city of Abuja for robbery, kidnapping or ritualistic purposes.

However, speaking on Thursday while commissioning the Kugbo Bus and International Taxi terminal, the president said the one chance menace has become a thing of the past.

He said with the newly constructed bus terminals across the city of Abuja, there would be ease of traffic and residents would be assured of their safety.

Represented by the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, the president said his administration is focused on prioritising high-impact transportation infrastructure and noticeable modernisation for the purpose of easing movement throughout the nation’s transportation system.

“The terminals align with development goals of transit-oriented cities with smart mobility, compact living spaces, parking management, winning support of stakeholders and citizens, and ultimately transforming lives.

“The presence of advanced security features, including comprehensive CCTV surveillance, ensures that your journey begins and ends in a secure environment. We heard your concerns. We understood your fears. And we acted. With your compliance, you will no longer suffer from one chance by the roadside,” the president stated.
