
Alkali Usman, a judge at the Sharia Court in Birnin Tudu has escaped from his abductors after two days he was declared missing.
Zagazola Makama, a counter-terrorism expert said Usman was declared missing on June 26, by some unknown gunmen in Gummi Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
Makama said the abducted judge returned to his residence at about 10 am June 27.
He was immediately rushed to a medical facility for checks and possible treatment.
He was however discharged after all medical investigations were carried out on him.
Reacting to his escape, security operatives debriefed the judge after his return.
He later returned to his family members and loved ones after his extended discussions with the security officials.
Spokesperson for the Zamfara police command, Yazid Abubakar also confirmed his abduction and escape.
Abubakar, however, did not give details about the circumstances surrounding his abduction and escape.
He said, “He has been reunited with his family. That is all I can tell you.”
