The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, will on Sunday, July 6, 2025, lead a national prayer session focused on economic restoration and divine enlargement.
The intercession, themed “Divine Opportunities”, will be held during the RCCG’s monthly Thanksgiving Service at the church’s national headquarters in Ebute-Metta, Lagos.
Speaking at a press conference on Friday, Pastor Oladele Balogun, Special Assistant to the General Overseer (Admin) and Pastor-in-Charge of Region 1, said the prayer initiative comes at a time when Nigeria and several other nations are facing economic hardship.
He was represented by Pastor Segun Macaulay, the Pastor-in-Charge of Province 1.
“Our nation, Nigeria, as well as other nations of the world, is going through a challenging time. However, the good news is that these challenges are surmountable by faith if we do not entertain doubt,” Balogun said.
He urged Nigerians to abandon negative confessions and embrace faith, positive reasoning, and action to move the nation forward.
“We trust God can and will reverse whatever has defied several efforts in the past. His abilities are inexhaustible,” he added.
Balogun noted that although government leaders are doing their best, much work remains in a country as vast and complex as Nigeria.
He emphasized the need for divine intervention, stating, “Yes, Nigeria is in dire straits, but God has reversed worse situations in the past.”
As part of its efforts, RCCG has reached out to key stakeholders in Nigeria’s economic landscape, including government officials, public and private sector leaders, unemployed and underemployed citizens, youth corps members, and others across social and economic backgrounds.
“This call to prayer is open to everyone — not just church members, but all Nigerians who believe in a better future. Together, we are trusting God for divine opportunities and a turnaround in our national economy,” Balogun said.
