Segun Sowunmi, a former aide to Atiku Abubakar has slammed the ex-vice president over his role in the formation of a coalition aimed at ousting the government of President Bola Tinubu from power.
Sowunmi, a former governorship candidate in Ogun State also threw a jab at Atiku for contesting for Nigeria’s number one seat since 1992.
Speaking during a Channels Television interview, Sowunmi accused his former boss of destabilising the system with his style of politics.
Describing Atiku’s style of politics as petty, Sowunmi said his former principal has never shared worthwhile ideas on how he intends to govern the country.
Further stating that becoming Nigeria’s President is not Atiku’s birthright, Sowunmi said Nigerians do not need politicians who have been in the political space since 1992.
He said, “With your petty politics, you’re destabilising the country, you’re instigating the people, and you’re not even allowing the people that have the day-to-day work of running government the sense and the stability to run government. And we’ve not heard anything from you that is inspirational enough that we will be able to say wow you bring something.
“What are you bringing? Haven’t we tried you before haven’t we tested you before, we don’t owe the presidency of Nigeria and if at all we are going to the north in 2027 you better go and find us a younger, sharper and a more agile northerner. We can then say we are done with the 1992 guys,” Sowunmi said.
