Senator Dino Melaye has declared that Nigerians are joining the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in large numbers because they are tired of hunger, insecurity and failed promises by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking after the suspension of the unveiling ceremony of ADC’s Kogi chapter at Kefas Multi-purpose Hall in Lokoja, Melaye described the coalition party as the “credible alternative” Nigerians have been waiting for.
His words: “Nigerians are tired of managing incompetent government. Nigerians are tired of excuses of government over insecurity. It is time to kill hunger and insecurity before they kill us.”
He said the turnout at the event, despite the suspension, was an indication of growing momentum.
He stated: “The turnout you see today is just the introduction. After this moment of mourning of our late president Buhari, we will return to formally unveil ADC in Kogi state.
“Even the handwriting on the wall is clear to the blind that the days of APC in political governance in Nigeria is over. The party to liberate Nigerians is here. ADC is the answer. Just keep watching.”
The rally was suspended to honour former president Muhammadu Buhari, whose death was announced on Sunday.
