JUST IN: President Tinubu Lands in Kano for Condolence Visit to Dantata Family

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived at Malam Aminu Kano International Airport for an onward journey to express condolences to the family of the late Kano-based business mogul and philanthropist, Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata.

The billionaire entrepreneur passed away at the age of 94 on June 28, in Abu Dhabi.

Late Dantata founded Express Petroleum & Gas Company Ltd and co-organised Jaiz Bank.

Dantata’s body was brought to Medina, Saudi Arabia, and buried there on July 1. Meanwhile, President Tinubu, who was abroad at the time of Dantata’s death, had earlier dispatched ministers, led by the Defence Minister Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, to attend the burial.

This visit comes just days after Tinubu returned from Katsina State, where he attended the burial ceremony of former President Muhammadu Buhari, who passed away in London on Sunday, and was laid to rest in Daura, Katsina, on Tuesday.
