Former Anambra State governor and Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 general election, Peter Obi has sent a message of support to Nigeria’s Super Falcons ahead of the final match of the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.
In a statement shared on his official Facebook page, Obi hailed the team for their remarkable performance throughout the tournament.
“You have carried the hopes, dreams, and pride of an entire nation with extraordinary courage and excellence throughout the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations,” Obi wrote.
He praised the players not only for their footballing skill but also for representing values of resilience, unity, and the unwavering Nigerian spirit.
“As you step onto the pitch tonight in Morocco, know that you are not alone. You carry with you the dreams of millions, the strength of a people, and the indomitable Naija spirit,” he added.
Obi called on Nigerians at home and abroad to unite in support of the team, expressing hope and confidence in their ability to emerge victorious.
“We stand with you — united, unwavering, and proud. Go forth and conquer, Super Falcons. Bring the trophy home!” he said.
