The 2023 presidential candidate for the Labour Party, Peter Obi has called on Nigerians to ensure they make time to register for their Permanent Voters’ Cards.
Obi in a short PVC registration campaign video shared on his social media pages described the PVC as power in the hands of the people.
According to Obi, the PVC is a power for both the rich and the poor population of the society.
He said in the video, “The PVC is your power. It is power for the rich and power for the poor. Go out and register and make sure you vote.”
He further urged Nigerians to ensure that they do not remain silent about their future.
“Don’t be silent about your future, go and register today,” Obi said.
The advice from Obi comes barely 24 hours after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) commenced the physical registration of PVCs across the nation.
INEC in a statement issued on Monday, August 25, said that within the past week, over 1.37 million Nigerians pre-registered for their PVCs online.
