Former Vice President and 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has donated a property in Yola to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for use as its Adamawa State secretariat.
The building, located in Jimeta, Yola North Local Government Area, previously served as the state secretariat of the PDP. It is now set to be repainted in ADC colours ahead of the party’s formal occupation.
The ADC has gained increased visibility in recent weeks following its adoption by some opposition leaders as a platform to challenge the ruling party in the 2027 general elections.
Atiku, who has declared his intention to contest in 2027, has been heavily linked with the ADC after he resigned from the PDP.
Reacting to the development, ADC chieftain in Adamawa State, Umar Jada, popularly known as Calculate, described the donation as a major boost to the party’s political structure in the state.
Jada, who also serves as the Assistant National Organising Secretary/Zonal Organising Secretary of the ADC, noted that the new office would provide a befitting space for mobilisation and coordination of party supporters.
