JUST IN: Another PDP chieftain dumps party for APC

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State, Olusola Salau, has officially defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Salau announced his decision in a personally signed statement released on Monday in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

Explaining his defection, Salau lamented the poor turnout of residents and the outcome of the recently concluded Remo Federal Constituency by-election, declaring that the PDP no longer holds any promise in Ogun State or the wider South-West.

He said, “There is nothing more for Ogun State PDP. I have finally made up my mind to dump the party.

“An experienced politician like me must know that in Ogun State and the entire South-West, there is nothing more for the PDP.

“I have told the leadership of the party, enough is enough.”

Salau added that he and his large number of followers would join forces with the APC to strengthen the party and contribute to the development of the state.

The statement continued, “I want to make an official declaration that I am no longer LADO, I am no longer a PDP member.

“I was the first strong mobilisation expert for LADO’s House of Representatives election, and the first person, with God’s support, who started LADO for Governor.

”As a political analyst, I have told my followers that we are done with PDP. We are moving in large numbers to join His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, in our next political movement, and we shall be joining other progressives to make APC stronger than it used to be in the past.”
