Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, has alleged that former presidential candidate Peter Obi once claimed his family would suffer if he left the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
Bwala made the claim during a podcast with Nedu WAZOBIA.
According to him, “99.9 percent of the political actors in Nigeria today have changed parties three times minimum. My father will say, beat them first before you ask them questions.”
He recalled that Obi initially vowed never to leave APGA, only to later join the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and then the Labour Party.
“Peter Obi was in APGA and he said he was never going to leave APGA that his family will die. Peter left for PDP, he left PDP to Labour.
Bwala also accused Obi of prioritizing personal interests over public welfare.
“Peter Obi’s interest has nothing to do with the interest of the people. Peter Obi has never given beyond N50 million, even that amount I can tell you the circumstances surrounding it.”
The presidential aide also criticised Obi’s post-election interventions in the Northwest and Northcentral, claiming that the boreholes provided by Obi were largely ineffective.
Although Obi has not formally resigned from the Labour Party, he is aligned with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of the 2027 elections.
