JUST IN: Notorious Bandit Ado Allero Kills Traditional Ruler in Zamfara Amid Peace Deal

Armed bandits led by notorious kingpin Ado Allero have reportedly killed a traditional ruler in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

The development was disclosed on Tuesday by Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency expert and security analyst, in a post on his X handle.

According to Makama, the gang led by Allero slaughtered the Hakimi of Dogon Dawa, a traditional ruler in Keta village, at about 4:09 pm on September 15, citing intelligence reports.

The same group allegedly kidnapped 40 civilians from a mosque in the LGA in what he described as a brutal and unprovoked attack.

Makama further revealed that the bandits have continued their reign of terror across the region, killing four farmers in Barikin Daji, Ruwan Gizo, Zamfara State, and two customs officers in Fingilla village, Dandi Local Government Area of Kebbi State.

The bandits ambushed NSCDC personnel along the Dafa-Yantumaki-Danmusa road, killing one officer and injuring four others.

Allero had earlier expressed optimism on Sunday that peace would be restored in Katsina, Zamfara, and surrounding areas following the dialogue in Faskari.

He claimed that previous disruptions of peace initiatives, including the arrest of his son, had forced him to resume criminal activities.

However, the spate of attacks has continued, raising questions about the effectiveness of ongoing peace talks and security strategies in the region.
