The Deputy Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State, Hon. Aliyu Yakubu Barde, has died.
Aliyu Barde’s death has plunged the ruling party into mourning.
Family sources confirmed that Barde passed away on Tuesday in Lafia after a brief illness. He is to be buried in his hometown, Wamba, in accordance with Islamic rites.
Reacting to the development, the State Secretary of the APC, Chief Otaru Douglas, described Barde’s death as a huge loss to the party and the state at large.
Before his emergence as the APC Deputy Chairman in Nasarawa, Barde had served as Interim Management Committee Chairman of Wamba Local Government Area under the administration of former Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura.
