The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has recovered 18 stolen vehicles, including two trucks.

The Commissioner of Police, Ajao S. Adewale, confirmed this while addressing journalists at the command headquarters on Friday. He said nine suspects were in custody over the thefts and would soon be charged to court.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that six truck tyres were also recovered during the operation.

According to the CP, “The Command also recovered eighteen stolen vehicles, including two trucks and six truck tyres. Nine suspects have been arrested in connection with these cases and will be charged in court upon the conclusion of investigations.”

In another development, the police also apprehended three suspected “one-chance” robbers identified as Ashafa Ali, Mohammed Lamido Jabir, and Ahmed Mohammed.

The suspects allegedly attacked a passenger, Kelvin Okorie, on April 30 after he boarded their vehicle at Lugbe. The victim was robbed at knife-point of N80,000, two phones, and other valuables. His ATM card was also taken, and N2.7 million was withdrawn from his account through POS operators.

The police said the arrests were made after what they described as “intensive investigation by detectives from the Anti-One-Chance Unit ‘B’ and the Surveillance Team.”
