JUST IN: APC accuses Gov Otti of taking credit for Tinubu’s projects in Abia

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia has accused Governor Alex Otti of taking credit for projects executed by the Federal Government while refusing to acknowledge the role of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
In a statement issued on Friday, Uche Aguoru, publicity secretary of the APC in Abia, alleged that Otti has consistently failed to give credit to Tinubu for infrastructure projects and other interventions in the state.
The APC spokesman also urged the governor to publicly state his position on Tinubu’s second-term ambition.
His words: “Governor Otti should be bold enough to publicly declare that President Tinubu is doing well. He should publicly declare support for his re-election.
“He should have the courage to state his support openly, and publicly tell his supporters to support Tinubu’s re-election if indeed he believes in the Tinubu re-election project.”
Aguoru cited the visit of the Renewed Hope National Media Tour to Abia as an example of what he described as Governor Otti’s reluctance to publicly identify with Federal Government projects.
He alleged that the governor deliberately avoided receiving the delegation to avoid acknowledging Tinubu’s interventions in the state.
“Rather than personally receive the team, he delegated aides to handle the visit, carefully distancing himself from any situation that might require him to publicly acknowledge President Tinubu’s unprecedented infrastructural interventions in Abia State,” he said.
The APC spokesman also alleged that aides, appointees and supporters of the governor routinely criticise Tinubu and the ruling party.
“Otti’s aides, appointees, associates and his party officials have been consistent in deriding both Mr President, his family, his policies and the APC openly. Please can someone explain to me how such a fellow can guarantee Mr President electoral success in Abia?” he queried.
The APC spokesman further accused Otti of presenting Federal Government projects as achievements of his administration.
His words: “It is imperative to state that while other opposition governors who support President Tinubu have made their positions clear and public, Governor Otti has consistently refused to give credit to President Tinubu in all the infrastructural interventions by the APC-led federal government.
“But instead he has deceptively presented them as his administration’s projects. He denies President Tinubu the glory he rightly deserves while enjoying the praises of gullible Abians.”
Aguoru added that the APC would continue to educate residents on what he described as the Federal Government’s contributions to the development of the state.
