BREAKING: APGA Suspends Senator Abaribe Over Ties to ADC [PHOTO]

The Abia State chapter of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has suspended Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, representing Abia South Senatorial District, indefinitely over alleged anti-party activities and links with the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

The suspension, which took effect on Friday, September 26, 2025, follows a resolution reached by the State Executive Committee (SEC) of the party during a meeting in Umuahia.

This development comes just three days after the party issued a 24-hour ultimatum to the senator to clarify his alleged relationship with the ADC or face disciplinary action.

In a letter signed by the State Secretary, Pastor Peter Nduka, APGA accused Abaribe of gross misconduct, disobedience to party directives, and actions that have brought the party into disrepute. The party noted that despite being given an opportunity to respond to the allegations, Abaribe failed to offer a satisfactory explanation.

“Pursuant to the resolution reached at the meeting of the State Executive Committee of our party held on the 26th day of September, 2025, in Umuahia, you have been suspended indefinitely from APGA with immediate effect for anti-party activities — actions which have exposed the party to public ridicule,” the letter stated.

The party further explained that Abaribe’s suspension was in line with Articles 21(1)(K) and 22(1)(B) of the APGA Constitution (as amended) and would remain in effect pending the outcome of a disciplinary committee investigation.

“Your suspension shall stand pending the hearing and determination of your case by a disciplinary committee to be set up by the party,” the resolution added.

APGA said it had also informed relevant institutions, security agencies, and the general public of the suspension.
