More Defections Loom as Bashir Ahmad Hints Two Govs Set to Join APC

Former presidential media aide, Bashir Ahmad, has hinted that two more state governors are set to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Ahmad made the revelation in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday night.

According to him, Taraba State Governor, Agbu Kefas, and another governor from the North West region will join the ruling party “in a matter of days.”

“In just a matter of days, the Governor of Taraba State and another Governor from the North West will officially join our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC),” Ahmad wrote.

As of June 2025, at least two sitting governors, Pastor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State and Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State, had already defected to the APC.

Meanwhile, Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, is also strongly rumoured to be the next to switch allegiance.
