The Republican Mayor of Blanco, Texas, Mike Arnold, has criticised Nigeria’s stance on foreign intervention, saying it is illogical for the country to reject America’s comments on terrorism while still seeking its financial assistance.
Arnold remarked on Monday during an interview where he criticised the Nigerian government’s stance on terrorism.
“I don’t understand why a nation as mineral-rich as Nigeria has to beg for help to save its own people,” he said.
According to him, Nigeria has enough resources to provide its citizens with the means to achieve stability.
“Displaced people are denied stability; their homes are bulldozed without warning — it’s horrific,” Arnold added.
“You don’t want America to speak on terrorism, but you want their money. That doesn’t make any sense to me whatsoever.”
