President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Tella Adeniran Rahamon as the Osun State Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The Nigerian leader made this known in a letter of request sent to the National Assembly for consideration and approval. President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, read the letter of request on the floor of the Senate at plenary.
In another letter, Buhari submitted the name of James Jiya Kolo to the Senate as a replacement for Mr. Daniel James Kolo, who died after the name was submitted.
Lawan referred the two requests to the relevant committees of the Senate for further legislative action.
