The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of the Festac Division, Lagos State, Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Matilda Umiah Ngbaronye, is dead
According to reports, the senior officer died on Friday, October 24, 2025, at an undisclosed hospital in the Surulere area of Lagos.
Her sudden death has thrown the Lagos State Police Command into mourning.
Until her demise, CSP Ngbaronye was widely respected as one of the most vibrant, professional, and dedicated officers within the Lagos Command.
She previously served as the Deputy Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the command, where she earned admiration for her discipline, leadership, and unwavering commitment to duty.
Her death has left colleagues, subordinates, and residents of the Festac community in shock and grief, as tributes continue to pour in honouring her service and legacy.
