Chief Orji Uzor Kalu has been released from Kuje Prisons on Wednesday evening, POLITICS NIGERIA has learned.
It will be recalled that Kalu has been in a fierce legal battle for his release following a Supreme Court decision to quash his conviction.
Kalu’s release followed an order on Monday by a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos ordering the immediate release of the former Abia state governor.
Justice Mohammed Liman, who ordered Kalu’s release, also quashed the 12-year jail term imposed on him last December 5 by Justice Mohammed Idris.
