Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has declared his readiness to support U.S. President Donald Trump if it will help Nigeria tackle terrorism.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Wike reacted to concerns about alleged persecution of Christians and rising insecurity in parts of the country.

“I will support Trump in providing and supporting Nigeria with technology in the fight against terrorism,” he stated, stressing that his focus is national security and not politics.

Wike dismissed claims that he was ignoring killings because of politics. He insisted that human lives must not become political tools.

“Sure, we stop these killings. It’s not for me to capitalize that people are dying in Plateau. It’s not for me to capitalize. People are dying in Benue. They wanted to take over the rest of governance. No, no, no,” he said, arguing that preventing further loss of life matters more than political rivalry.

He questioned the narrative of “Christian genocide,” saying security challenges affect all citizens regardless of religion.

“Who knows? So so person died. Is he a Christian? Is he a Muslim? Is he a non-believer?” he asked, urging Nigerians not to frame insecurity along religious lines.

The minister recalled his experience visiting Maiduguri in 2011 during the peak of Boko Haram attacks. According to him, shortly after he left a school in the city that day, the school was destroyed.

“I was the first minister under Boko Haram to go to Maiduguri… that same day, that school was burnt down,” he narrated, highlighting how deep-rooted terrorism has been.

Wike added that he would “support any country that wants to prefer solutions in supporting the Niger government to fight terrorism,” noting that nations often assist allies in such situations.

  1. There are crimes everywhere, but the issue of fulani terrorists killings in the North and south need urgent attention. To my surprise, president Tinubu is doing little or nothing to stop them. My concern is that one day other tribes will turn it to war against the Fulanis because there is no monopoly of violence.

  2. God bless you Mr. Woke. You have indeed proved that you are not an hypocrite. You have done what others are afraid to do.
It is clear that Christians in the North are being suppressed.
When I was in the Northern part of Nigeria, a man decided to convert to Christianity was chained down, threatened to be killed before he escaped to us before eventually helped by American Government to escape being murdered by his people and somebody at the comfort of Southern Nigeria is saying Christian genocide in Nigeria is a lie.
A woman teacher in Gombe was Burned alive just because she refused a student ti cheat in an exam hall, the student lied tire Quran and claimed that the woman did it and based on that without asking questions everyone beat and burned her.
    No case till today.
Whatever you di in the North against Christianity will go unpunished.

  3. Trump should help us Nigerian citizens because we are passing through many or a lot of persecution in Nigeria

  4. These humans should be fed up with shaming themselves please.

I don’t think Trump will appreciate whatever you call support

  5. Mr. FCT Minister speak so well and i believe he stand so firm at least to join hand to help curb the menace that affect both the christians and the Muslim

  6. Good. We want security assistance / technology but not to bring their soldiers here. Why ? Yes, because they don’t have the history of entering a troubled country and leave them in good and perfect condition. Is it Libya, Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, DRC, etc. They don’t equally have history of entering a poor troubled nation for same reason. Why ?

  7. Somebody that PDP can not trust, Rivers can not trust, Nigerians can not trust is telling President Trump to trust him.

  8. To My Fellow Muslims in Nigeria

Let’s be honest with ourselves no emotion, no sentiment, just truth.

Yes, Muslims have also been killed in this country. Nobody denies that. We’ve lost innocent lives in mosques, villages, and marketplaces from Zamfara to Borno. But let’s stop twisting facts: who are the killers?

    Are they Christians? No.
    Are they Jews? No.
    Are they Buddhists? No.
They are Jihadists extremists who hide under the name of Islam to slaughter both Christians and Muslims who disagree with their madness.

So when Christians cry out that they are being massacred because of their faith, let’s stop rushing to say “Muslims are victims too.” That’s not the point. Christians are being targeted in the name of religion. Muslims are being killed for refusing to join in the madness. Both are victims but the ideology behind the killing wears a Jihadist face, not a Christian one.

No Christian has ever killed a Muslim in this country in the name of Jesus (pbuh). But how many times have we seen mobs shouting “Allahu Akbar” while burning churches and murdering innocent people? From Borno to Jos Plateau, from Kaduna to Yola these things happened, and we all know it.

    Remember Deborah Yakubu in Sokoto?
She was lynched in broad daylight and many Muslims, including lawyers, defended her killers. That was the moment Nigeria lost its moral compass. Instead of defending justice, we defended evil because the victim was a Christian and the killers were Muslims.

That’s why the world no longer takes our defense seriously. We can’t claim to be victims while defending the monsters among us.

Until Muslims in Nigeria openly condemn and fight Jihadists with the same energy they defend Islam, this bloodshed will never end. Every time you justify or stay silent, you’re empowering those who destroy our image and faith.

Let’s stop being hypocritical. This isn’t about defending religion it’s about saving our humanity. Islam means peace, but too many people have turned it into a weapon.

We must unite Muslims and Christians against the Jihadists who have hijacked our country. Enough is enough. Silence is no longer an option.

  9. Nigeria will never have peace, even if we fast and pray throughout the whole year without telling ourselves the capital truth. Let’s call a spade a spade.
