The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has urged President Bola Tinubu to act swiftly, wisely, and diplomatically in addressing the growing concerns over alleged attacks on Christians in Nigeria.

Speaking during the November Holy Ghost Service at the Redemption City Campground, Adeboye called on the government to adopt a strategic and balanced approach to the nation’s security challenges.

“If I am asked to make suggestions, I will say quietly to the government: move wisely, move diplomatically,” he said. “There was a time when Christians and Muslims lived together peacefully. My family includes Muslims, and I grew up sharing meals with them. The issue of religion only became politicised later.”

He outlined what he would suggest if consulted, urging the government to move quickly while negotiating diplomatically with foreign powers.

“Convince the President of America to delay any action for about 100 days, then direct our security chiefs to eliminate terrorists within 90 days or resign,” he said.

He stressed that any new directive from President Tinubu should go beyond targeting insurgents to include their financiers and backers. “When giving orders to the service chiefs this time, he should make it clear that they are to eliminate both the terrorists and their sponsors, no matter how influential they may be.”

The cleric also cautioned Nigeria to act prudently in its dealings with global powers. “If America attacks us, no other nation, China, Russia, or Britain, will intervene. They may condemn, but they will not help us,” he warned.

Adeboye expressed frustration over recent claims by President Tinubu that the security situation had improved, saying such statements do not reflect the realities on the ground.

“I almost spoke last month after hearing the section of the President’s speech that said all is well. People are still being killed and displaced,” he said.

He concluded on a hopeful note, encouraging Nigerians to remain prayerful and steadfast, confident that peace would return. “God said this will be a remarkable year. Despite the turbulent winds, there will be peace again in Nigeria.”
