JUST IN: US congressman reacts to abduction of 25 schoolgirls in Kebbi

Riley Moore, a lawmaker in the United States of America’s Congress has reacted to the abduction of 25 schoolgirls from the Government Girls Secondary School, Maga, in Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State on Monday, November 17.

Moore, who represents West Virginia’s 2nd District at the US Congress called for prayers from his followers on X over the lives of the girls abducted from their school by bandits.

He also prayed for the repose of the soul of the vice principal of the school, Hassan Yakubu Makuku, who was killed by the bandits during the attack.

His words, “Please join me in praying for the 25 girls who have been kidnapped and for the repose of the soul of their vice principal who was killed.

“While we don’t have all the details on this horrific attack, we know that the attack occurred in a Christian enclave in Northern Nigeria,” Moore wrote on X.

The US Congressman who has been on the front burner of the investigations and allegations of Christian genocide and persecution in the Northern part of Nigeria also called on the government to take necessary actions towards ending the incessant killing and attacks across the nation.

He said, “The Nigerian government must do more to end the rampant violence.”

Meanwhile, the Federal Government has assured Nigerians that swift efforts would be made towards ensuring the immediate release of the schoolgirls.

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris in a statement released hours after the incident said the FG stands in solidarity with the families of the schoolgirls.

Idris added that security and intelligence agencies have been issued clear directives to locate, rescue, and safely return the students, and to ensure that the perpetrators face justice.

He also said that the FG will not relent until this objective is achieved.

  1. U people are not looking beyond d surface. Y has no single moslem school students ever been abducted all these years until now? It was organized just to prove that there is no Christian genocide, that d terrorist targets all religions. D terrorist sponsors n supporters are d organizers of this sudden abduction. D world shld not b deceived.
