His deployment follows President Bola Tinubu’s directive on Thursday ordering him to relocate to Kebbi and remain there until the victims are safely recovered.

Matawalle’s presence is expected to boost coordination among security agencies and fast-track the rescue operation.

According to a statement by his media aide, Ahmad Dan-Wudil, the minister touched down at Sir Ahmadu Bello International Airport, Birnin Kebbi, on Friday.

The statement added that Matawalle would be directly supervising security operations to ensure the safe return of the abducted students.
