The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano has thrown its full weight behind President Bola Tinubu for the 2027 presidential election.
Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, former governor of the state, announced the endorsement after a round of meetings with key stakeholders.
The consultations were held at his residence in Kano. Party leaders from all 44 local government areas attended.
Ganduje said the discussions were meant to stabilise the party and prepare members for the next political cycle.
He stated that the Kano APC is fully aligned with the direction of the federal government under President Tinubu.
According to him, unity at all levels is now a top priority.
Ganduje, who once served as National Chairman of the APC, also issued new directives to party officials.
He told ward and local government executives to keep all party offices open and active ahead of the elections.
The former APC Chairman further instructed delegates to return to their communities and clearly communicate the endorsement of Tinubu.
He also spoke on the electronic registration programme.
Ganduje said each local government will deploy three trained ICT personnel to handle the exercise.
He noted that the party hopes to increase its membership base before the 2027 polls.
The former governor encouraged residents to register with INEC.
He reminded members that every eligible person above 18 should take part in the ongoing nationwide voter registration.
Several senior figures of the Kano APC were present.
They include former Governor Kabiru Gaya, Hon. Alhassan Ado Doguwa, 2023 governorship candidate Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, his running mate Murtala Sule Garo, and the state party chairman Abdullahi Abbas.
