
The Catholic Diocese of Kontagora in Niger State has released the names of 265 students and teachers of St. Mary’s School, Papiri, who remain in captivity.
On 21 November, armed men attacked the school, abducting 315 people, including 303 students and 12 teachers.
On Sunday, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Niger State reported that 50 students had managed to escape from captivity.
On Monday, the diocese published the names of 239 students from nursery and primary schools, 14 students from secondary schools, and 12 teachers still held by the abductors, bringing the total to 265 individuals.
The Niger State Commissioner of Police, CP Adamu Abdullahi Elleman, said security forces are working tirelessly to ensure the safe rescue of the abducted students and staff.
The Catholic Diocese of Kontagora has called for prayers for the safe return of all kidnapped pupils and staff.
