Terrorists attacked Isapa, a community near Eruku in Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State, abducting at least 11 residents just 24 hours after victims of a previous church kidnapping were released.
The incident occurred around 6:00 p.m. on Monday, when an estimated 20 to 30 armed men stormed the community, firing sporadically and forcing residents to flee for safety. An elderly woman was reportedly hit by a stray bullet during the attack.
A community leader, speaking on condition of anonymity, confirmed that seven of the kidnapped individuals came from the same household. “The victims include a pregnant woman, two nursing mothers, and several young children,” he said.
Those abducted have been identified as Talatu Kabiru, 20; Magaji, 6; Kande, 5; Hadiza, 10; Mariam, 6; Saima, 5; Habibat (housewife); Fatima Yusufu (housewife); Sarah Sunday, 22 (pregnant); Lami Fidelis, 23 (nursing mother); and Haja Na Allah (nursing mother).
Eyewitnesses reported that the attackers moved through sections of the town, leaving bullet holes in walls and doors. Expended AK-47 shells were later recovered at multiple points in the community after the assailants retreated with their captives.
The attack has heightened tension across Isapa and surrounding areas, prompting intensified efforts from security agencies and local vigilante groups to locate the kidnappers and rescue the victims.
Commissioner of Police Adekimi Ojo confirmed the incident stating, “Yes, there was an incident, but I cannot say much now. I am about to enter Isapa from Ilorin. I will update you when I get there.”
Nigeria is currently grappling with one of the worst security crises in its history, leading to widespread school closures, particularly in the northern region.

I sympathise for those that being kidnapped by sulu gambari’s children but since kwarans are more familiar with Fulanis than Yorubas I think they should manage themselves however kwara state authority should be held responsible
No arrest was made at the first release of the kidnapped victims, this ginger them to commit more atrocities. The government will continue to negotiate with these murderers until they will come and kidnapp the government themselves.
