The embattled Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Cross River State, Alphonsus Eba, has been removed from office.
The state executive committee impeached Eba after he allegedly refused to resign despite repeated calls from various factions within the party.
Ntufam Ekum Ojogu has taken over as acting chairman and will manage the party’s affairs until a state congress is held and his appointment is formally ratified.
The decision aligns with Section 17(6) of the APC constitution, which grants the SEC the authority to appoint an acting chairman when a substantive chairman is removed.
