The Nigerian Air Force says its C-130 aircraft made a precautionary landing in Bobo-Dioulasso, Burkina Faso, after the crew observed a technical issue during a ferry mission to Portugal.

Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday morning.

He said the aircraft, which took off from Lagos on December 8, diverted to the nearest airfield in line with standard safety procedures and international aviation protocols.

Ejodame said the crew is safe and has received cordial treatment from the host authorities, adding that plans are ongoing to resume the mission as scheduled.

“The Nigerian Air Force appreciates the support received during this period and assures the public that NAF remains professionally committed to strict compliance with operational procedures and safety standards, ensuring the protection of its personnel while fulfilling its constitutional mandate,” he said.

  1. Pls do well to take that great war horse out of that hostile territory .We can’t afford to lose our C- 130 Hercules this period of heightened security threats from many theatres.

  2. Burkina Faso should try not to incur the wrath of Nigeria by seizing our military assets and personnel.Nigeria has the enormous military assets and manpower power to make that tiny country part of Nigeria. We can swiftly overrun Burkina Faso in just weeks .

    1. Hahahaha!
Seriously, can we really be able to overun the tiny country? With what, if I may ask? We have an ernemorsed security challenge we’re still unable to put an end to in our country, and here we are talking about running over a whole country. Anyway, let’s try with what we should had used to runover that tiny country, to sort out our internal self-inflicted banditry, terrorism, kidnappings & other pressing security issues on ground.

    2. What do you mean by the wrath of Nigeria? Please take that your wrath to Sambisa Forest,Boko Haram , Bandits and Fulani herdsmen and stop talking rubbish

  3. Nigerian c-130 aircraft which could have landed in sambisa forest and wiped out Boko haram and related terrorists it means dem miss the target or explain again let me hear you well oga

  4. Burkina Faso Knew Nigeria is a failed state why won’t they act on the Nigerian Air Force people who cannot protect their territory shame on them

  5. The normal procedure is to seek permission from Burkina Faso authority for save landing in their nearest Airport or landing facilities.
But they were forced to land by the Burkina Faso air force.

    So Government explanation is untrue.

Do we say they are lying?
