
The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has re-elected its National Working Committee (NWC) members for another four-year term as national officers.
The elections took place on Saturday in Abuja during the party’s national elective convention.
The re-elected NWC members include Dr. Ajuji Ahmed (National Chairman), Alhaji Abba Kawu (Deputy National Chairman, North), Chief Onu Nwaze (Deputy National Chairman, South), Hon. Dipo Olayokun (National Secretary), and Hon. Oladipo Johnson (National Publicity Secretary).
Other key NWC members are Barr. Ibrahim Garba Muhammad (Deputy National Secretary), Hon. Bala Y. Mohammed (National Organising Secretary), Ahmed Balewa (National Treasurer), Rev. Akpan Victor Ekan (National Financial Secretary), Dr. Maryam Yasin (National Woman Leader), Muhammad Auwal Musa (National Youth Leader), Magaji Ibrahim SAN (National Legal Adviser), and Mustapha Alkasim Danhajia (National Welfare Secretary).
Deputy and Ex-Officio positions were also filled, including Hon. Moses Okoh (Deputy National Organising Secretary), Hon. Solape Olatuboson (Deputy National Woman Leader), Mr. Fredrick Mbasi and Chidiobi Jenny (Deputy National Youth Leaders), and several regional representatives across the country.
The Chairman of the National Convention Planning Committee, Hon. Bala Yunusa Mohammedo, described the election process as credible and conducted in line with the party constitution. He emphasised that the convention also aimed to strengthen unity and brotherhood among party members.
Speaking after the elections, Dr. Ajuji Ahmed, the re-elected National Chairman, said the NNPP has been repositioned and strengthened as a major stakeholder in Nigeria’s democracy.
He highlighted the party’s achievements in Kano State under Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and stressed that the party is prepared to offer Nigerians a “fresh start” in the upcoming general elections.
Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, NNPP National Leader and former Governor of Kano State, congratulated the new executive members and urged continued discipline and loyalty to the party.
He noted that the performance of the NNPP-led government in Kano serves as a model for what Nigerians should expect in 2027.
Dignitaries at the convention included Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, Deputy Governor Abdulsalaam Gwarzo, Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Jibrin Falgore, and Engr. Buba Galadima, Secretary of the Board of Trustees.
