Bandits on Sunday night attacked a private residence in Pindiga town, Akko local government area of Gombe State, killing one Prince Yusuf Derdoski and his pregnant sister.

The assailants also abducted two other siblings during the attack, residents said.

The incident occurred late at night and has plunged the Pindiga community into mourning.

A resident said the attackers stormed the house, opened fire, and escaped with the abducted victims before security operatives could respond.

The identities of the kidnapped siblings were not immediately disclosed.

The attack adds to growing concerns over recurring security breaches in parts of Gombe state.

In recent months, communities in Akko LGA and neighbouring areas have reported sporadic attacks, abductions, and armed robberies attributed to criminal gangs.

Community leaders urged security agencies to improve intelligence gathering and patrols to prevent further attacks.

As of press time, the police were yet to issue an official statement on the attack.

Security agencies have previously said they are reviewing strategies to curb banditry and kidnapping across the state.
