The Presidency has reacted strongly to the reported defection of former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
The reaction came through Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication.
Bwala described Obi’s latest political move as unstable and reckless. He accused the former Anambra State governor of lacking clear political direction.
In a sharp post, Bwala referred to Obi as a “NOMADIC POLITICIAN JOINING STRUCTURE OF CRIMINALITY.”
He went further to say, “The nomadic politician is continuing his wild goose chase by joining the structure of criminality.”
Bwala listed Obi’s past party affiliations to support his argument. He pointed to Obi’s movement across several parties over the years.
According to him, “PDP- APGA- PDP- Labour- ADC the wondering spirit still going to end up as a second fiddle or campaign DG.”
The presidential aide suggested that Obi’s political journey shows a pattern of inconsistency. He argued that frequent party switches weaken credibility and long-term relevance.
Bwala also took a swipe at Obi’s inner circle. He blamed the former candidate’s advisers for what he described as poor strategic choices. He said, “That is how your political trajectory would be if your adviser is a mad man.”
So far, Peter Obi has not issued an official response to the remarks. The ADC has also remained silent on the criticism from the Presidency.
