Ossai Ovie Success, an aide to the Delta state governor, has criticised Peter Obi over his defection to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
In a statement on social media on Wednesday, Ossai said Obi’s decision to leave the Labour Party for the ADC was a major political miscalculation.
“He will lose Obidients,” Ossai said, adding that Obi had been misled by senior opposition figures, including Atiku Abubakar.
His words: “The likes of Atiku are not looking at 2027 but 2031, so they want to use Peter Obi to remain relevant till 2031 when it will be the turn of the north.
“Even if he becomes Atiku’s running mate, or vice versa, which is unlikely, they still can’t defeat President Tinubu in 2027.
“Peter Obi thinks the love Obidients used to have for him is still there, but I think he’s wrong. I see Obidients voting for Tinubu. He shouldn’t have decamped to ADC; he has zero chance in 2027.”
