Libya deports dozens of Nigerians after crackdown on illegal migrants

The Libyan government has announced the deportation of a group of illegal Nigerian migrants.
The ministry said the deportation was carried out through Mitiga international airport in Tripoli.
In a statement published on its official Facebook page on Wednesday, the ministry said the exercise was part of a national programme to address illegal migration.
It said all required legal and humanitarian procedures were completed before the deportation.
The ministry said deportation operations would continue under a comprehensive plan aimed at reducing the flow of illegal migrants through Libyan territory.
It added that the plan is also intended to maintain security and stability across the country.
