President Buhari meets APC Governors over leadership crisis

In order to find a lasting solution to the crisis rocking the All Progressives Congress (APC), President Muhammadu Buhari is currently meeting with some governors elected on the party’s platform.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the meeting is taking place inside the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The Chairman of Progressive Governors Forum and Governor of Kebbi State, Atiku Bagudu led a delegation which comprises of the Chairman of Northern Governors Forum and Governor of Plateau State, Simon Lalong, and Governor Abubakar Badaru ofJigawa State to Aso Rock.

Recall that Governor Bagudu made spirited efforts to settle the dispute between Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo state and the suspended National Chairman of the APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole but all to no avail.

The meeting is taking place in less than 24 hours after Senate President Ahmad Lawan met with the President over the crisis rocking the party.

He hinted that the president would lead a push for the settlement of the crisis within the next few days.
