Kidnappers release Nine travellers abducted in Ondo

Information reaching POLITICS NIGERIA reports nine travellers who were kidnapped on Isua Akoko Road in Ondo State have been released.

Recall that the victims were ambushed and kidnapped while travelling from Abuja to Lagos aboard a Toyota Sienna Space bus last week Friday.

It was gathered that eight of the travellers regained freedom on Monday while one had earlier been released on Sunday night and reunited with his family.

This newspaper understands that the victims were released on Monday night by the abductors after a huge sum of money was paid as ransom.

It was learned that the kidnappers contacted the family of one of the victims and demanded a sum of N100m ransom.

However, the victims regained freedom after one of the victim’s relations based in Abuja paid the ransom to the hoodlums.
