Nigeria’s Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo has reacted to a report alleging that he illegally received N4 billion recovered funds from suspended EFCC chairman, Ibrahim Magu.
The report by an online platform, Pointblanknews, alleged that Mr Osinbajo was involved in a fraudulent scheme with Magu, who the report also accused of embezzling N39 billion. The Vice President has denied the report describing it as ‘FAKE NEWS’.
Below is a statement, made available to POLITICS NIGERIA, signed by his media aide, Laolu Akande;
“Inundated by wide circulation of Fake News about VP’s purported involvement in some EFCC recovery billions, pls rest assured they’re all LIES: calculated to confuse and concocted to smear Prof. Osinbajo’s image.”
“The VP hasn’t & will never be involved in any such shady activities.” he tweeted.
