The Presidency has denied a report that President Muhammadu Buhari has sacked the Interim Management Committee of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC.
The Personal Assistant on New Media to the President, Ahmad Bashir, debunked the report in a tweet on his Twitter page on Thursday night.
POLITICS NIGERIA had reported that the Senate on Thursday recommended the dissolution of the NDDC Committee following the alleged corruption in the commission.
But some unconfirmed reports went viral on social media that the Presidential Spokespersons, Garba Shehu and Femi Adesina confirmed the dissolution of the committee on Thursday.
However, Ahmad noted that the report is fake and did not emenate from the Presidency.
He wrote: “A rogue statement on the dissolution of the Interim Management Committee of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), attributed to both @FemAdesina and @GarShehu, is making the rounds on some social media platforms, esp. WhatsApp, the statement is FAKE, not from the Presidency.”
