Geoplex Drillteq Wins OGTAN 2026 Indigenous Service Company Award

Geoplex Drillteq Ltd. has received the 2026 Indigenous Service Company Award from the Oil and Gas Trainers Association of Nigeria (OGTAN) in recognition of its contribution to Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.

The award was presented at an OGTAN industry conference held at the Petroleum Training Institute (PTI), Effurun, Delta State.

Reacting to the honour, Chief Executive Officer of Geoplex Drillteq Ltd., Mr Wole Ogunsanya, said the recognition reflected the growing importance of indigenous companies in strengthening service delivery and technical capacity within the Nigerian petroleum industry.

Ogunsanya, in a statement issued in Lagos on Friday, thanked OGTAN for acknowledging the company’s work and supporting local operators committed to professionalism and efficiency.

According to him, the award would serve as further encouragement to the management and staff of Geoplex Drillteq to maintain high standards across the company’s operations.

“We appreciate OGTAN for recognising indigenous service companies and encouraging efficiency and effective service delivery,” he said.

He dedicated the award to Geoplex employees, partners and stakeholders, whom he credited with supporting the company’s expansion and achievements over the years.

Ogunsanya said the company would remain focused on strengthening indigenous expertise, delivering value to clients and contributing to the long-term development of Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.

“We will continue to pursue excellence, create value for our clients and stakeholders, and support the development of local expertise,” he added.

The conference, themed **“Empowering People. Driving Performance. Shaping the Future of the Oil & Gas,”** brought together professionals, service companies, trainers and other stakeholders to examine workforce development and the future of Nigeria’s energy sector.

The programme also recognised individuals and organisations that have made notable contributions to human capital and professional development in the industry.

OGTAN President, Mr Chris Osarunmewense, described Geoplex Drillteq as one of the indigenous companies playing an important role in the development of Nigeria’s oilfield services sector.

Osarunmewense said the conference marked the beginning of a series of engagements aimed at building the skills and workforce needed to maximise Nigeria’s energy potential.

He noted that the industry must look beyond the responsibilities of individual organisations and pay greater attention to developing the people and technical capabilities required to sustain future growth.

Using golf as an illustration, the OGTAN president said building an effective workforce requires discipline, preparation, patience, strategy and continuous improvement.

“Success does not come from one perfect shot, but from consistently making sound decisions, learning from mistakes and continuously improving,” he said.

Osarunmewense also described Warri and the wider Niger Delta as central to the evolution of Nigeria’s petroleum industry, noting the region’s longstanding role in exploration, production, oilfield services, technical manpower development and community engagement.

He said Warri’s combination of industry presence, technical institutions, host communities and skilled manpower made it a fitting location for conversations about the future of Nigeria’s energy workforce.

Geoplex Drillteq is an indigenous oilfield services company with operations in Nigeria and other parts of Sub-Saharan Africa.

With more than two decades of industry experience, the company provides integrated services across upstream and midstream operations and holds API Q2 certification for quality management.

Its service portfolio includes drilling rigs, electric wireline logging, measurement and logging while drilling, well cementing, coiled tubing, completions, slickline operations, well testing and floating production, storage and offloading services.
