Nigeria’s Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami has ordered the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu to prived security for 17 APC lawmakers in Edo state.
POLITICS NIGERIA learned that Malami, in a letter dated August 5, disclosed that the security measure is necessary to quell any breakdown of law and order. His letter was based on a petition to his office by Idahosa-West Chambers.
The 17 lawmakers backing All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, have been battling to enter the Edo state House of Assembly complex on Ring Road, Benin City.
The assembly complex shut down on Thursday by the state government led by Godwin Obaseki for ‘renovations’.
