Mohammed Duara, one of the sons of Mamman Daura, has denied media reports that his father is suffering from health complications and has been flown abroad for medical treatment.
It was widely reported that Daura, President Muhammadu Buhari’s nephew, and his close confidant was flown to the United Kingdom for medical care.
But in a statement on Friday, Mohammed revealed that his father is hale and healthy, adding that he went for a business engagement abroad. He also insisted his father does not have renal problems or breathing difficulties as being speculated.
“For the past couple of days, we have been forced to deny numerous times a completely fabricated story about our father’s well-being.”
“Alhamdulillah. Baba is perfectly fine. He neither has a history of renal problems nor does he have any breathing difficulties like was suggested in the concocted news story,” Mohammed said.
He also warned that anyone rejoicing over the news to “know that one thing about life is that no one makes it out alive. We should collectively be humbled by our own mortality.
“We would like to extend our gratitude to the many well-wishers who have called or sent messages to pray for our father. We thank you for the prayers and well wishes.”
